The Secretary

Read Story: SEASON 1 EPISODE 14

As i drove to the love garden, one thing rang in my head, i must have been followed all the while.

Since my admirer saw and hears everything i do, so, its either they are with me now or, they are waiting already for me.

I was lost in thought when i saw it again! – The black jeep. Quickly , without wasting time, i took out my phone to check the number plates i snapped ealier and WTF! They were the same.

I brought my hands to my ear to activate my ear bud and after the second call, Tony’s voice came up.

“What have we got kid?”

My hand was still in my ears.

“Pretty bad, i’m being followed”

I made a quick, sharp turn to the left side and almost immediately The black Jeep showed up again.

“Tony, they are still hot on me!”

“Well, lets find you a way outta there” i could hear noisy sound of a working hand on a keyboard from background.

“I’ve got you- you’re on pavilion street”

I made a oh-thank-God face

“Yeap….thats my location”

“so grab your wheels my boy….theres a sharp turning to your left….and then next is a U- turn… Dont take the U- turn rather, head up the bridge and down to the rail track…it should lead you to a tunnel which should get you to your date position” and with that, the connection went off.

WTF!.. how could he leave me like that…

I fastened my belts, grapped my wheels and i hit the gas that charlie jeered forward. I maintained a 160 max as the black Jeep continue to poke through.

I saw ahead the left turn and on the approach and count of three, i expertly pulled my handbrakes with my left hand while i rolled the wheel with my right hand at the same time causing charlie’s front tyres to seize while her back tyres screeched on the aphalt as they turned to the left side.

Theres was no time to waste, charlie hadn’t even gained her balance before i quickly released the gas, threw the gear into 2, raising my speed into 100 at a jump start then 3, 4 now gear 5.

I raced forward again and the black jeep came at me again.

I manouvered my way among the busy street to avoid hitting people. I was approaching the U – turn now when suddenly a very slow tanker pulled up from no where and started to block my path…shit!

I had no choice but to take the U-turn.

I gased up again ramming up my speed to 200 , charlie may be old but still active. I continued my pacr towards the U-turn and on another count of 3, i hit the brakes really hard, swerved the steering totally to the left causing charlie’s front and back left wing side tyre to leave the ground and i had to balance it with my weight.

I made it just in time to avoid coliding with the tanker. My turning was a hard one that my front tyres came to a hault causing the backside to folllow the weight and it made a very perfect U-turn.

I guess the Black jeep didnt see it coming as they slightly brushed side to back with the tanker and before they could turn around, i reversed and headed to the rail track….

The railtrack is one liner with great walls on both side. I still maintained my speed when the black jeep showed up again – now i began to wonder if they were more than one.

The race began again- they were coming close now, charlie had begun to stutter now and i was beginning to shiver when bright light hit my face – a train!

Thankfully, my escape route – the tunnel was up ahead before the train would reach me. I pumped the gas, raised my gear to the sixth, ramming my speed up to 220.

I approached the tunnel faster also the train didnt stop at its savage speed.

Meanwhile, the black jeep slowed down and slowly, it turned around and went back. But why??? They could have made it with me into the tunnel! Why would they go back? Were they ordered to return?.

The train approached me greatly and now we were just breaths apart when I pressed harder on the gas and with all my might, i swerved carelessly into the tunnel and thankfully, the trained zapped away my side mirrior- at least i made it.

I was still giving thanks breathing heavily when Tony’s voice teared my ears.

“You lost em son!”

I was too terrified to speak..i was still in shock.

“No tony…i dont…think..so, they turned back willingly, …they were going…to…make…it if the followed me heads on”

“or perhaps do you think they went ahead to wait for you?”

Tony sounded very thoughtfull.

“I suggest you cancel it” he sounded concerned this time.

“No tony, if they knew where i was going, they would have known kate would be there too and i wouldn’t want to endanger her life.”

“okay, be safe”
