Unwanted Baby

Episode 12

As Chima walked into the house, I saw Emmanuel smile quietly at him.

“Bro, you decided to come and see me,” Emmanuel said while exchanging handshakes with Chima.

My mouth fell open. What was going on here?

“Bro, hope you’re getting better?,” Chima asked with concern written all over him.

“What is going on here?” I asked Emmanuel quietly.

“Oh, I’m really sorry not to have told you earlier, but it was Chima that brought me to your house that night. Don’t forget I didn’t know your house before hand, so didn’t you wonder how I knew to come here?,” Emmanuel asked.

I had pondered over that question on that night when I had seen him at the door, but I didn’t know how to ask him since he had been asleep since.

“So you’re saying Chima saved your life?,” I asked.

“Exactly, He saw me by the roadside where I was lying half dead and picked me up with his bike. He had wanted to take me to his house, but with all the busy body neighbors he has, he knew gossips would soon start flying around. So he brought me here,” Emmanuel explained.

Chima stood at a corner smiling broadly, and not muttering a word.

I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I had thought at first that Chima had wanted Emmanuel dead, but it turned out he had actually saved my angel. But why would a person that had threatened to make sure I didn’t survive my pregnancy decide to save Emmanuel?

“Thank you Chima,” I muttered quietly.

Chima shook his head slightly, and said he had been doing what any other person would have done.

I excused myself, leaving the two in the sitting room to chat, while wondering what I wasn’t seeing.

About an hour later, I heard Chima announce to Mama that he would be taking his leave. I came out and told Mama I would be seeing him off.

” Don’t waste time oh,” Mama warned.

I nodded, and hurried off with Chima. As we got to the gate, I couldn’t help but ask what had been bothering me.

“Chima, what are you planning?”

Chima smiled.

“You’ll just have to wait and see. But don’t think I’ve forgotten my promise that you won’t be giving me any Us*less baby,” he said and began to hurry home.

I stood, confused and wondering what was happening….
