I was about to say something, when I heard Emmanuel laugh behind me.

” You’re the biggest monster I’ve ever seen. So, you’re now trying to buy Nne to your side with money? You’ll give her all this things for maybe a month, but when you get to the peak of your political career, you’ll come for her life. Am I wrong?,” Emmanuel asked with a grin on his face.

Emmanuel wasn’t looking strong. The place where had been stabbed had a bandage over it, and his usually handsome face had grown an unkempt beard.

The Governor chuckled loudly, and stood up to face Emmanuel,

“Emmanuel, You didn’t even greet your father.”

Emmanuel’s eyes flashed red with anger,

“Mr Allison Ononye, I don’t have a father. I only know of a monster that spread his seed inside my mother, and left her to die in pains.”

“And for that I’ve asked that you forgive me, haven’t I? Look, I would really want to spend time with you, but I happen to have a meeting that’ll push me towards the presidential seat.

So I’ll ask you what I just asked her. Take my offer to live abroad fully on my expense, and if you still want to practice Law, I’ll establish a chamber for you over there. All you have to do is stop being this way, and treat me like your father.”

“So if I want to travel to The US, you’ll pay for everything, and establish me there. Am I correct?”

“Yes,” the Governor’s smile spread wider now.

“And then after I’m there, and I’m feeling safe, you’ll send assassins to do away with me so I can never pose a threat to you. You can take your offer, and go to hell with it,” Emmanuel responded angrily.

The governor’s smile faded, and I saw him reach for his gun,

“I expected you’d say something like that though…”
