Episode 31

I couldn’t believe my eyes. I almost fainted with shock.
I had no choice than to try see if i could help the man but Tessy instantly resisted.
“Get away from here Val. Get away as fast as you can. Don’t let anybody see you. Just leave him alone with me” she begged as I nervously bent over the unconscious man, jerking me up from behind.
“no we got to help him first. I can’t just go. At least let’s first check if he’s still alive” i answered nervously.

“Val leave. Just go. No one saw you here. You were never here. Leave right now so that i can handle this situation” she said seriously, her face colouring tremendously. I breathed deeply and stared at her indecisively.

“do you want to go to jail?” she asked. I swallowed hard and shook my head.
“then go away right now. I don’t think he’s dead, i will call you later” she said seriously.

I slowly brought out the bunch of keys i came to return, presenting the keys to her. She scoffed and bent over her Ex husband.
“Val get the hell out of here. This isn’t time for your little drama. I beg of you” she said with a raised tone. I gently put the keys back in my pocket, turned and ran out of the house without looking back.

I just wasn’t myself as i drove back to my apartment that fateful morning. I felt so, so terrible. I just felt like a driver who mistakenly ran over a group of school children with his truck and to make matters worst, Tessy never answered her phone all through that day and the next, leaving me with just speculations as I expected the worst.
I really was so scared. I just didn’t know what to think nor believe. I was afraid of my life, my future and everything.
Tessy just kept me in the dark, giving me no information whatsoever. Perhaps she did it out of concern, love or for her own selfish interest. I never got to know nor did i hear from her until a week Later when she showed up without even notifying me that she was coming.

It was precisely on a Friday evening, around 7pm or thereabout. I answered my door to see her standing with a cute smile, looking so stunning in a black expensive looking gown. My heart leapt on seeing her. Too many questions instantly rushed into my head. She drew forward and kissed me hotly.
“oh Val i so much missed you” she breathed.

“so how about your Ex husband. How is he?” i asked nervously.
“Relax, he’s very fine and will never bother you again. He’s very much alive and comfortable” she answered and laughed in a very sickening manner. I drew back with fear while she scoffed and drew closer again.
“you owe me Val. I saved your a-s. How about we make love. My body has been itching for such a long time” she breathed, throwing her hands round my neck.
I just couldn’t help but wonder what she did to the man that gave her such confidence and aura…
