Episode 35

“Are you serious?” i asked my sister when i finally found my voice.

“yea she arrived the country on Saturday and came over to our house yesterday evening. We were so surprised to see her. She never even told us she was coming home” my sister replied.
“so where is she now?” i asked,
“at her family house” she answered.

I abandoned everything i planned doing that day and headed straight to Enugu without thinking twice. My heart pounded furiously as i drove. I couldn’t help but wonder how Adaora’s reaction would be on seeing me and Of course i knew it won’t be very easy winning her back like on previous occasions i had erred.

Things were now different. Adaora was now a matured lady and not a student anymore, moreover I was totally at fault in everything not minding the numerous chances she gave me to redeem myself …
I headed straight to Adaora’s family house on getting to Enugu. My heart pounded more furiously as i got nearer to the house. I prayed silently, eagerly begging the Lord for a miracle which i knew i never deserved.
Slowly i made my way to the house.

On getting to the compound, i was surprised to see Adaora and a girl who looked very familiar standing in front of the gate. They were well dressed up as if they were waiting for someone to pick them up.

Adaora instantly frowned on recognizing my car while i nervously parked, alighted and approached her.
“hey dear how far” i greeted politely. She instantly frowned, turned and walked right back into the compound, leaving her friend behind at the gate. I quickly went after her, grabbed her right hand and stopped her.
“c’mon you shouldn’t treat me like that” i begged. She instantly turned and slapped me. Her eyes quickly melting with tears as she delivered the blow.
“how shouldn’t i treat you huh?. Just get the f–k out of this house. Leave my life alone. I’m done with you. At least your mum equally isn’t proud of you anymore. I can’t let you continue infesting my life with bad luck and evil vices. I hate you” she poured out hotly, shaking me with her words.
“your life is cursed. I can’t ever imagine what you are here to do?. To lie again?. To tell me how much you love me?. C’mon” she breathed while her friend who she left at the gate interrupted us.

“hey girlie he’s here, let’s go” she called out to Adaora from the gate.
“i have to go now. Don’t bother checking up on me again. I will be travelling to Abuja tomorrow. Please stay away from my life. It’s over” she said seriously, left me and headed back towards the spot she left her friend.

I slowly followed behind, biting my lips as i saw her hug a very fair looking guy before getting into his SUV with her friend. The car disappeared within seconds while i stood motionless like a Roman figure…
I just couldn’t figure out what else to tell Adaora or do to win her back. I so much needed her but by the look of things my destiny was not tied with her but with Tessy…..
The first meeting was a disaster.
“I NEEDED A STRONG PLAN TO WIN HER BACK”
