In my hostel

It’s almost my final year in university,I can’t wait to get out of here, straight outta lasu,like it’s been stress and hell here in school ,

Now ,am staying alone ,I might just stay over here after school,I don’t want to go back home again,I prefer going home some days to check on my mum,if not for her self,I promise I won’t step that home again aside going for one or two things ,like parties ,yes parties,my mum’s members are found of parties,not just ordinary parties but congratulations parties like wedding or naming ceremony,freedom or house warming,that family ehn,they do some best things I am always proud of ,I mean isn’t it something to be proud of , congratulations still plenty cause mine will also join

I missed chioma but she is not the type of lady one could move along with,she doesn’t even worth been a friend

No,don’t be surprised I change words ,she was a good friend before,but you don’t know one’s character until you move closer to them ,

Well,twenty children cannot play for twenty years,

It’s finally my convocation day,,I told you congratulations still plenty,my mum’s six siblings were present, siblings not family,yes,her mother married three husband’s and gave birth to nine children but they are six remaining ,the six of them are really trying for us(my mum and I) in their own way,like seriously let’s not deny God,tho, at times , someone might do things for you in millions but if they didn’t do the most important ones,they haven’t done anything, absolutely nothing,

Am famished,let me get myself something to eat

Oh the kitchen is empty and am too weak to walk down the street ,I have to reach the junction before i can get food

I stood up on my feet and staggered back,my body is so heavy to move,but I didn’t stress myself,how come am this weak ,am having a blur Vision but am famished,I can’t just sit back at home

I managed myself to move outside the compound ,

yes I remember vividly I collapsed

That was all I know not until now that I met myself at the hospital bed

I took a proper look at the room and noticed a drip in my hand

“Yes,she is awake ” a lady at the entrance said as she ran back shouting doctor

She returned with the doctor

The doctor opened my eyes with his thumb while the lady sat beside me on the bed

“Yes,madam,you are fine but you shouldn’t be walking at that moment” he said while still examining me

What did you mean by that,can’t I walk anytime

“You can’t walk anytime,as a pregnant lady ,you should limit the way you climb hills”

Pre what?

“Yes ,he said you are 4weeks pregnant” the lady replied

“Miss Eriola,she is now fine ,you can now go home” doctor said

Aunty Eriola,thank you,I manage to let out my voice

“Don’t mention,and besides I will like it if you can call me Eriola instead of aunty”

Thank you..

“Now get up, let me take you home”

We arrived at my house with the help of Eriola ,it’s not longer an hostel ,it’s now a house

Thank you Eri

“You welcome Ayo,is this your house” she asked as she stare at the apartment

Yes,

“Okay” sad look

What’s wrong Eri?

“Nothing,am okay ”

C’mon Eriola,you look worried ,you can talk to me

“I was wandering around when I saw you collapsed,so I now carried you to the hospital,so ”

Eriola,can you just talk and stop this so so of a thing

“I don’t have a home ”

What did you mean by that ? Where have you been staying before

“Like I said earlier, have been wandering around like a lost soul,I hawk different things to survive”

It’s fine,you can be staying here with me ,I stay alone

“Ohh,thank you” she went on her kneels

Well,the decision to keep Eri in my house is dangerous, someone I don’t know her relative ,but you know what,she said she Hawks for survival,I think we can work things out,since I don’t have another means of survival ,I don’t want to go back to that nonsense act again as it might be difficult at this stage of pregnancy and femi who was the other option is no where to be found,he is not dead but ..

“Ayo,Ayo , Ayo” Eriola’s voice brought me back to my conscious
